Job Purpose: The Cooking Instructor will educate and inspire students by teaching culinary techniques, recipes, and kitchen safety in a classroom, workshop, or online environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging cooking classes, workshops, or demonstrations.
Prepare lesson plans, recipes, and instructional materials tailored to the audience.
Demonstrate proper cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety.
Supervise and assist students during hands-on cooking activities.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the teaching kitchen or classroom.
Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into lessons.
Manage class logistics, including ingredient sourcing and equipment setup.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a chef, cook, or culinary instructor.
Strong knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and food safety.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to engage and motivate students of all skill levels.
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous teaching or training experience in a culinary setting.
Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe).
Experience with online or virtual cooking instruction.
