Construction worker

Job Purpose:

The construction worker is responsible for assisting in the building, repair, and maintenance of structures and infrastructure on construction sites. This role supports skilled tradespeople and ensures that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload building materials and move them to appropriate locations on site

• Operate hand and power tools as required

• Assist with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding and temporary structures

• Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt

• Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment at all times

• Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazards

• Support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers

• Perform basic measurements and calculations

• Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

• Basic understanding of construction site safety practices

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in construction or related field

• Familiarity with construction tools and equipment

• Certification in workplace safety (e.g., OSHA)

• Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings
